Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month
Alzheimer's & Brain Awareness Month: Understanding the Importance of Brain Health.
Causes and Risks Factors.
Alzheimer's disease is a progressive brain disorder that affects memory, thinking, and behavior. The exact causes of Alzheimer's are not yet fully understood, but it is believed to be a combination of genetic, environmental, and lifestyle factors. Some of the known risk factors for Alzheimer's include age, family history, head injuries, and certain health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, and obesity.
Symptoms and Diagnosis.
The early symptoms of Alzheimer's can be subtle and easily overlooked, but as the disease progresses, they become more noticeable and severe. These symptoms include memory loss, difficulty with language, confusion, mood swings, and changes in personality.
A diagnosis of Alzheimer's is typically made through a combination of medical history, physical examination, and cognitive tests.
